High quality Caribbean natural sea sponges suitable for use as period sponges. The pack contains 4 period sponges in different sizes, each for a different flow volume: 1 Ultra small (1.5″-2.0″), 1 extra small (2.0″-2.5″), 1 small (2.5″-3.0″) and 1 small medium (3.0″-3.5″). Also, available in natural color or bleached.

Caribbean Silk menstrual sponges for the period

Sustainably harvested from the seas off the West Indies and Central America, the Caribbean silk sea sponge is ideal for feminine care & hygiene.

Durable and elastic, and with an almost spherical shape, this fibrous natural sponge type is the most appropriate choice for menstrual use as a period sponge, as it has a perfect vaginal fit.

The pack contains 4 Caribbean silk menstrual sponges, each a different size for a different flow volume:

  • 1 ultra small (1.5″-2.0″) for low flow volume,
  • 1 extra small (2.0″-2.5″) for medium flow volume,
  • 1 small (2.5″-3.0″) for high flow volume and
  • 1 small medium size (3.0″-3.5″) for maximum flow volume

You can also be visually guided by the number of pink droplets that appear under each sponge on the product photo.

Directions for use:

Wash your hands with soap and water. Soak the sponge in warm water or lube to soften it. Then Squeeze excess liquid out of the sponge and insert it as you would insert a conventional tampon. Note: We strongly recommend disinfecting your period sponge before each use.

Useful tip:

To use this product as a feminine tampon you will need a removal cord. We recommend the use of dental floss for this purpose as it is already disinfected, safe to use, and you can change it every time you reuse the sponge.

Due to the natural origin of the sea sponge, there might be instances where the sponge you receive slightly varies in shape and/or color shade from those presented on our website. Rest assured however that you have made the right choice since all our products are of excellent quality.

How to clean and maintain your menstrual sponges.

Make sure you thoroughly wash your menstrual sponge with warm water and soap after each use. This will help to keep it in the best condition for as long as possible.

Also, we strongly recommend that you disinfect it each time before use. You can use vinegar, peroxide, soda or any other disinfectant of your choosing.

Here’s a good way to disinfect your sponge:

  1. Wash the sponge thoroughly with warm water and mild soap. Avoid using harsh soaps, detergents or other chemicals.
  2. Soak the sponge for 10 minutes in a cup with water and vinegar, a 10:1 analogy.
  3. Optionally, soak the sponge for 10 minutes in a cup with 1 tbsp baking soda (to restore volume and density).
  4. Remove it from the cup, squeeze to remove excess liquid and set it out to dry on a clean surface.
  5. Use again. Your sponge should be as good as new.
