Fishing with ecological conscience
Our natural sponges are harvested with the protection of the environment in mind. So, we only collect the mature ones.
Our divers collect each sponge by cutting it but not uprooting it. A part of it always remains intact on the sea bed and, out of this part, a new sponge will grow. At the same time the sponge is squeezed in order to reject more of the seeds it contains.
In this way we ensure that where we harvest, the sponge population is not just maintained but also increased.
