How to clean and maintain your Honeycomb sponge
Make sure you thoroughly rinse out your sponge with warm water after using it each time and let it dry naturally on a clean surface. This will help to keep it in the best condition for as long as possible.
It’s also important, however, to disinfect it regularly – at least once every 2-3 weeks if used daily – to prevent bacteria building up.
Here’s a good way to disinfect your sea sponge:
- Rinse the sponge under cold running water.
- Soak the sponge into a bowl with water and vinegar, a 10:1 analogy, and leave to soak for 10-30 minutes.
- Remove it from the bowl and squeeze it to remove excess liquid.
- Set out to dry on a clean surface, such as the bathtub.
- Use again. The sponge should be as good as new.
