Caribbean Silk natural sponges for facial care

Sustainably harvested from the seas off the West Indies and Central America, the Caribbean “Silk Sponge” is also known as “Hardhead“.

Because of its fairly hard surface, Hardhead is particularly suitable for gentle facial massage and skin exfoliation. Fibrous, durable and elastic, it is wonderful for facial cleansing – especially of those hard to reach areas around the eyes and nose – or for putting on or removing makeup or lotions.

Caribbean Silk natural face sponges are an inexpensive option, but still perfect for cosmetic or facial use.

Directions for use:

Wash your silk sponge thoroughly before first use. Add a small quantity of bath foam and massage your body with circular moves. Wash it off after each use and let it dry naturally.

Useful tip:

Achieve natural disinfection and extend the lifetime of your silk sponge by placing it into a bowl with water and vinegar, 10:1, for 10-30 minutes. Rinse off and use it as regularly.

Due to the natural origin of the sea sponge, there might be instances where the sponge you receive slightly varies in shape and/or color shade from those presented on our website. This by no means reduces the worth of your purchase since all our products are of excellent quality.

How to clean and maintain your Caribbean silk natural sponges.

Make sure you thoroughly rinse out your sponges under running water after using it each time, and let it dry naturally on a clean surface. This will help to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible.

It’s also important, however, to disinfect them regularly – at least once every 2-3 weeks if used daily – to prevent bacteria building up.

Here’s a good way to disinfect your sea sponge:

  1. Soak the sponges into a bowl with water and vinegar, a 10:1 analogy, and leave to soak for 10-30 minutes.
  2. Remove them from the bowl and squeeze them to remove excess liquid.
  3. Set out to dry on a clean surface, such as the bathtub.
  4. Use again. The sponges should be as good as new.
